Through the “Engelsizmir” project set up in order to ensure the participation of disabled people in the social life, Izmir continues to overcome all obstacles in the city life. It has been taken concrete steps to ensure that Izmir becomes a “non-disabled” city. With this project that reorganizes every street, pavement, transport network, and public building, disabled people can easily access to open-to-public areas. The “Engelsizmir” project that also holds events in the name of disabled people proves that no obstacle can resist against art and sport.
